The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a letter last month to the JH Airport Board. This letter was in reply to the letter of concern written by the JH Airport Board to the Denver Flight Standards District Office on December 27th, 2019, stating safety as the main issue with the proposed helicopter tours sought by Wind River Air, LLC.

The (FAA) letter reinstates the fact that Wind River Air, LLC has already obtained approval from their agency and could begin operating anytime. The FAA further stated they “consider this matter closed.”

The FAA will continue their ongoing surveillance to hold operators accountable for compliance in safety and operation standards.

“JH Airport Board members are passionate about this community and share many of the same thoughts and values when it comes to the proposed helicopter tours. We have received clear communication from the FAA that legally, we have to permit this type of aviation activity in order to comply with Federal Regulations,” stated Jackson Hole Airport Board President, Jerry Blann.
