Jackson Hole is quickly becoming a biking mecca. Jackson Hole has over 56 miles of paved pathways that link the town of Jackson to Teton Village and Grand Teton National Park, and over 115 miles of mountain bike trails. From flat, paved pathways to steep single track, the valley has something for every bike rider.

Dornans Adventure Sports – Bike rentals located in Moose, at the entrance to Grand Teton National Park. Rent a bike, and ride directly onto the pathway at the foot of the Tetons.

With three ski resorts  located within an hour drive of the Jackson Hole Airport, and unlimited backcountry access, people travel from around the world to ski in our remote corner of northwest Wyoming. The terrain is extensive, with everything from a magic carpet at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to expert level chutes deep in the backcountry.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort – World class ski area with over 4’000 vertical feet of terrain. Lessons, rentals, dining, shopping, and lodging are all located in Teton Village at the base of the mountain.

Snow King Mountain – Fondly referred to as the “town hill”, Snow King Mountain offers exceptional skiing in downtown Jackson. Great for a quick run before dinner, or a full day of skiing. Night skiing and a tube park are available, as well as lessons, rentals, dining, and a full service resort. All of this is just a few blocks from the town square.

Grand Targhee Ski Resort – Located over Teton Pass on the west side of the Tetons, Targhee offers excellent skiing, over 500″ of light powder each winter, and shorter lift lines. Full service ski resort including dining, lodging, rentals, and lessons at the base of the Teton range in Alta, Wyoming.

While Jackson Hole is generally associated with deep powder runs and steep terrain, cross country or Nordic skiing is another popular winter activity and alternative to downhill skiing. With many miles of groomed nordic track, and unlimited off trail skiing (if you are up for breaking trail!), cross country skiing in Jackson offers beautiful scenery, peaceful trails, winter wildlife, and great exercise. Groomed cross country ski trails are available at Trail Creek, Teton Pines, Cache Creek, Grand Teton National Park, and several other locations throughout the valley.

Teton Pines Nordic Center – Rentals, lessons, and approximately 16km of groomed nordic track just a few miles south of Teton Village.

From where the Snake River exits Jackson Lake all the way to Palisades reservoir, there is over 50 miles of spectacular river. Guided trips are offered on different portions of the Snake River depending on your preference. Scenic floats through Grand Teton National Park offer memorable wildlife viewing opportunities, and views of the Teton Range you will see nowhere else. Looking for a little more excitement? Hiking is a favorite past time for both visitors and locals alike. With breathtaking alpine vistas, wildflowers, wildlife, and pristine lakes and rivers, putting on your hiking boots and hitting the trails is a must during your time in Jackson Hole.  From scenic walks by Jenny Lake, to hiking miles across the Teton Range, there is something for everyone on the local hiking trails.

Grand Teton National Park – Hiking in Grand Teton National Park will be an unparalleled experience. Visit the parks website for descriptions of trails, and stop by the Visitor Center to chat with a local ranger for recommendations based on your experience level.

Jackson Hole is a fly-fishing paradise – breathtaking scenery, legendary fishing, and accessibility for all levels. Whether you are an expert angler, or a novice, one of the local guide companies can share their local knowledge and expertise with you.

Grand Teton Fly Fishing – Formerly Jack Dennis Fly Fishing, Grand Teton Fly Fishing has experienced guides that have been fishing the local rivers for years. They are a concessionaire for both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, allowing you to access many of the prime fishing locations in the area.

Westbank Anglers – Located off the Teton Village road, Westbank Anglers specializes in guided trips of the Greater Yellowstone and Teton areas. They are also able to help you arrange fishing trips to locations around the world.

Within just a few hours drive of the Jackson Hole Airport, you will find thousands of miles of trails to explore on overnight backpacking trips. Find yourself at a remote lake in the Wind Rivers, high on Death Canyon Shelf in Grand Teton National Park, or tucked away in the trees by a lake in Yellowstone. There are options for everyone, from week (or more!) long trips, to just a single overnight somewhere close to the trailhead.

Wind River Range – Located just two hours southeast of Jackson, the Wind River Range offers some of the best backpacking in the area. Miles of trails through alpine meadows and mountain vistas, excellent fishing, and the opportunity to take pack-animals into the mountains allow all levels of backpackers to explore the outdoors.

Yellowstone National Park – Overnight backpacking in Yellowstone allows opportunities for exceptional wildlife viewing, and the chance to experience Yellowstone away from the crowds. Visit the Yellowstone National Park website for information on securing backcountry permits.

The Teton Range is rugged, spectacular, and offers everything from walk-up peaks, to difficult, multi-day climbs. The gold-standard for visitors is reaching the summit of the iconic Grand Teton, towering over the valley below at a height of 13,770′. Hook up with one of the local guide companies for instruction, and your chance to summit one of the peaks in the Teton Range.
