Terminal Projects

Restaurant

• – Exterior glass has been installed.
• – Exterior panels and masonry are being placed
• – The interior floor and stone walls are in progress.
• – 75% of the wood ceiling is completed.
• – The elevator is being installed.
• – The kitchen and back-of-house finishes are taking place.

• – The new restaurant roof is about 80% complete.
• – Mechanical, electric and plumbing install above the ceilings and walls is in progress.
• – Interior wall framing, insulation and drywall is underway.
• – Starting work on the main level wood ceiling.
• – Exterior concrete has begun and should be completed mid-Nov.
• – Site utilities will be finished this week.

• – Roof decking is completed.
• – The basement interior framing is near completion and the main level interior framing is in progress.
• – Structural steel fire-proofing has started.
• – Mechanical, electric and plumbing rough-in is ongoing.
• – Site utilities, grading, back-fill is underway.
• – Site concrete prep has begun.

• – Basement steel has been installed.
• – Concrete flooring in the basement is in place.
• – Waterproofing is completed.
• – Main level structural steel and decking is being installed.
• – Backfill for the perimeter and basement walls is in progress.
• – Preparations for the main level slab are underway.

• – 75% done with the basement walls.
• – The basement slabs will be installed within the next couple of weeks.
• – Currently roughing in the underground plumbing.
• – The air handler will be set in place in a couple of weeks.
• – The structural steel will start to be installed for the basement and main level in two weeks.

• – Basement shoring is complete.
• – Foundation footers are being installed.

Holdroom

• – Flooring and ceiling are complete.
• – Millwork and finishes are being installed.

Checkpoint

• – Carpet and ceiling are complete.
• – All interior and exterior glass is being installed next week.
• – TSA equipment will be moved in next week.

Runway Project

• – We are at Day 66 of the 78 Day Runway Project.
• – The runway is fully paved, ahead of schedule.
• – Exterior slot drains are fully installed.
• – Work on the interior slot drains on the runway has started.
• – Runway electrical work is 65% complete with work continuing on runway centerline lights and airfield signage.
• – Paving crews are close to finishing Taxiway A4 and will begin paving the north blast pad, which is the final paving section.
• – Painting and striping will begin this week in preparation for the flight check next week.
• – Crews are placing topsoil and grading surfaces along both sides of the entire runway.

Definitions

FAA Flight Check

The FAA Flight Operations Group will conduct a flight check at JAC to ensure the integrity of all approach and departure navigational aids and airfield striping.  Crew members for the Flight Operations Group are located in six field offices throughout the United States, including Alaska.  A successful Flight Check is required prior to reopening of the runway at JAC.

Terminal Projects

• – Installation of the wood ceiling and stone walls in the Checkpoint and Holdroom area is in progress.
• – Drywall is completed and painting has begun in the Checkpoint and Holdroom areas.
• – Excavation and shoring is nearly completed for the restaurant project, with the footings and foundation up next.

Runway Project

• – We are at Day 51 of the 78 Day Runway Project.
• – Aggregate base course has been completely installed.
• – Paving has started on the southern end of the runway.
• – Installation of the runway lights has begun.
• – Grading outside of the runway shoulders has started.

Terminal Projects

• – Restaurant basement excavation is almost complete.
• – Fire suppression system is being installed in Holdroom & Security Checkpoint.
• – Interior fireproofing is complete.
• – Underground duct work is nearly complete.

Runway Project

• – We are at Day 37 of our 78 Day Runway Project (half way this Thursday!)
• – Installation of the exterior slot drains have been completed.
• – Relocation of major FAA Navigational Aids have been completed (for those interested pilots out there):
•           MALS, PAPIs, Glideslope, Localizer
• – Milling and removal of the entire runway and Taxiways A1 and A4 is complete.
• – Rebuilding the base courses for the new runway and Taxiways A1 and A4 has begun.

Terminal Projects

• – Terminal Projects are on schedule.
• – Basement excavation is underway.
• – The new Security Checkpoint and Hold Room area roof is complete.
• – Concrete flooring and wall framing is underway.

Runway Project

• – We are at Day 22 of our 78 Day Runway Project and on schedule.
• – Milling is approximately 80% complete for removal of the current pavement.
• – 50% of all FAA Navigational Aids work is either underway or complete.
• – Slot Drain installation is 20% complete.
• – Installation of runway lighting is underway.
• – Taxiway Alpha 1 is 75% complete.

Definitions

Navigation Aids

Navigational Aids (NAVAIDs) are physical devices on the ground that aircraft can detect and fly to. The navigation instruments indicate the position of the aircraft in relation to the runway as they prepare to land.

Slot Drains

Drainage system that captures liquid flowing off large runway surfaces for the purposes of safety and environmental stewardship.

• – Construction is happening 24/7 (day and night, rain or shine).
• – Materials from the restaurant and security checkpoint projects are being incorporated into the runway project negating the need to truck offsite.
• – The hold room and security checkpoint area roof is nearly complete; all the steel has been installed and they will be pouring the first section of the concrete slab shorty.
• – Runway milling schedule is now 12 hours per day.
