JACKSON HOLE COMES THIRD IN THE WORLD’S TOP 10 AIRPORT LANDINGS

Private jet booking network, PrivateFly.com, reveals the results of a global poll to uncover the world’s favorite scenic airport approaches-
Jackson Hole Airport has come third in a global poll1 of the world’s favorite scenic airport landings, by the private jet hire booking network PrivateFly.com.
The poll, which followed PrivateFly’s own top 10 list published last year, asked travel fans and pilots for their most inspirational landing. Voters could choose from a suggested shortlist of 28 or nominate an airport outside the shortlist. A total of 79 global airports received a mention, with Jackson Hole – the only airport in North America to feature in the top 10 – receiving the third biggest number of votes overall.
Ray Bishop, Airport Director of Jackson Hole Airport commented: “We are very honored to be in such a distinct class of airports and the best in North America. On the other hand, it’s nice to confirm what we already knew: Jackson Hole Wyoming is a stunning and iconic place”.
One Jackson Hole fan commented in the poll: “The Grand Tetons are the most spectacular mountain range you will ever see in your lifetime and you get to see them up close and personal when you fly into Jackson Hole. Sunset arrivals and departures and even more amazing!” Another said: “The stunning mountain and Snake River views, knowing you on the edge of Yellowstone National Park, combined with the spectacular look at the Tetons make this a very special approach.”
Adam Twidell, CEO of PrivateFly.com, and a former British Air Force pilot, added: “A thrilling view on approach is a huge part of the joy of flying – for passengers and pilots alike – and Jackson Hole certainly delivers this. When PrivateFly.com published its own top 10 airport landings list last year, it inspired widespread and passionate debate. That’s why we decided to ask our website users, aviation fans and pilots for their opinions”.
Twidell continued: “The voters have reminded us all that flying can be a thrilling highlight of any journey, not just a means of getting there”.
